Button Quilt

Materials and techniques: Cotton, acetate lining, ties, metal buttons. Machine piecing and collage.

Comments: Ann had quite a collection of buttons that she assembled over the years. She decided that she wanted to display them but could not just pin them on anything. So she whipped out this background and attached many of her buttons (as well as a few of Greg's.)
 
Probably her most prized button is that from NASA Ames' Space Camp. She attended the Parent-Child week in 1996 as the 'parent' of Allen Young, the son of good friends Bret and Sue Young. Ann had always wanted to be an astronaut and this was her chance to finally do it.
